The Birthday Roundup!

A week since turning 29, here is a (rhyming) photo essay of my birthday. Enjoy!

Feeling cool as Fred Astaire
This new top hat I'll wear
Like the call from a bugle
There's a birthday wish from Google

Breakfast: hyper inducing,
Let's eat that giant cupcake
Then some trick shots and no mistake

Not hyper enough?

How 'bout a Dolce Gusto coffee pod?
It's like drinking satin,
Then we'll sing like Princess Jasmine

Or like Princess Ariel
But like a princess for sure.
I don't care if you're a man,
You're not getting to be Peter Pan
You're a princess

And a wonderful present
I must say
Cause it's practically perfect in every way

The sun is shining
And I feel debonair
Cause today I am cool
Like Mr Fred Astaire

Twitter Interview #2 @_dr01d_

For my second ever Twitter Interview, please welcome @_dr01d_ !! This man is so cool, that he even sent me birthday presents one year, which included a hamster birthday card that plays I Feel Good by James Brown. I still have that card. And some days, I even use it to scare and confuse Chino the hamster. Interview time!

Are you happy to participate in this interview or are you doing it against your will?

More than happy. I demand Jelly Beans as payment however!

State your name and purpose:

My name is James and my purpose is make people happy.

What biscuit is King of biscuits? And what biscuit is Prime Minister of biscuits?

There is no king, there is no PM. There is only chocolate hobnobs. Master of the biscuit universe. Plus, Eddie (bottom) keeps a packet in his pocket at all times. What more endorsement do you need?

You just won a years supply! But of what?

Are you ill? Jelly beans, of course!

You are playing Monopoly, which piece are you?

The dog. Always. Because a dog who owns a waterworks is just the best thing ever - Unlimited hydrants to pee on!!

Fears! What fear would you get rid of and what fear would you replace it with?

I would vanquish my fear of octopus, and then replace it with a fear of sushi.

If you could spend the day traveling through a real life version of a game, which game would you choose? (Video and/or Board game)

SKYRIM. - everything is better with mead and magic.

You have just acquired your own tv channel. What existing shows would you buy to show on your channel? And what sort of reality tv show would you create?

Supernatural - WITHOUT adverts, grr. The entire Bottom back catalogue. Spongebob. Tartan Asia films. And that show where that bearded bloke shows how to do oil paintings on black canvas.
Reality show? hmmm... how about a show where chavs are forced to go to work and stop breeding? "Real Life" it would be called. I'm pretty sure it won't catch on....

Given that god is infinite, and that the universe is also infinite. Would you like a toasted teacake?

No. And no smeggin' flapjacks either.

Write a 4 line rhyming poem about this interview:

Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,

This interview was Fun,
I'm no good at rhyming.

Complete the sentence:

Twitter needs... Stupidity filters.

Caterpillars like when... Shoe shops have a sale on.

I can't remember... How old I am or my DOB like 90% of the time. (seriously, I often need to text people to find out)

Dominos Pizza helps... me spend money.

My bathroom doesn't have... enough plant life.

Would you rather...

Spend a week as

DEFINITELY C - Annoying people is one of my hobbies.

Stand on
A) A slug with just your socks on
B) a pile of nettles with no socks on

B - Coz then my gf can rub soothing cream into my feet and toes. I have a foot thing. (did I say that out loud?)

Be
A) Kicked by a horse
B) Stung by a bee on your eardrum
C) Given the evil eye by a cow who then whispers to his cow friends, who all proceed to give you the evil eye

C - It's all good. I'd just return the next day with a group of friends and some McDonald's meals.

Eat
A) Mashed potatoes from the top of a full and disgusting bin
B) A lollipop after 2 different dogs have licked it and 1 stood on it

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

At long last, I got my Sega Genesis working! Given to me at Xmas from my brother (along with a hell of a lot of games). First time I've ever played a Genesis...hard to believe? Well technically it's true since in Scotland I was playing the Mega Drive.

So, last night I decide to play Sonic 2.
Normally, being the younger child I'm always Player 2, and I like being Player 2. But I had to step it up to being full on Sonic, no more Tails for me. As I played, I made some notes to myself...

(in random order)
  • I hate water levels. Hate em, hate em. I keep drowning, bubbles don't appear when I need them! And I'm too damned cavalier to take a bubble when I'm not drowning. (That would be Aquatic Ruin Zone)
  • Hill Top Zone! I used to love being Tails here because as soon as the level starts I jump on the vine lift and leave Sonic standing there all by himself with nowhere to go. I find this hilario and will do it everytime. So if you see me giggling at the music for that level it's because I'm thinking of that feeling.
  • I don't like when a spring sends me in the wrong direction or into spikes. However I do like it when it sends me to another close by spring and I shoot rapidly back and forth between the two. Ahh, that's the stuff.
  • My husband (who was in the room at the time) has never played Sonic, of any kind, ever. And when Casino Night Zone started, he was heard to remark "That's some funky music". Yes. Yes it is.
  • Another memory I have of Casino Night Zone, is being Tails, oh my lovely Tails...and getting stuck in walls due a glitch, and floating about the place like an escaped mental patient seeing the world for the first time in years.
  •  Mystic Cave Zone! We used to call this the Chippy Zone, cause randomly, EVERY SINGLE TIME we played, someone would bring chippy chips into the house. We used this round sparingly due to this. Alas, last night there were no chippy chips brought to me :( ...though today I found out my brother had chippy chips back in Scotland! SO IT STILL WORKS!!
  • Special Stages. Gotta love em. But mostly only as Tails (again). It's too much pressure to collect and avoid while being Sonic. Plus I like spinning in circles and being of use to no one. ...Much as in life! I guess video games really do influence us :O

Fun at the Park!!

We all love to have fun at the children's park even if we are 24 years old...

Look at that. Look at the joy on that face. Just enjoy that for a minute. This was the first time I've ever been on one of these that actually work! Where I live, the springs are all rusted over so they don't move, I never knew they were supposed to move!!

And here I am being a happy pirate looking for land...

...and here I am being a serious pirate...also looking for land.

This is me captaining my boat through a wicked wind storm!

Maybe I think I need to find things to do with my time...

A trip to the field (or "field trip" if you will)

Back in June, Paul and I went on a trip to the field to take some photos. I thought I'd tell you all the events of that day...

Just before we got to the field we passed by my old Primary School. As you can see in the photo, it has been torn down. And that is some fake sadness I'm expressing. Clouds in the background look cool, spooky. I always like spooky.

We arrive at the field! I haven't been here since I was a kid.

Once we crossed over 2 barbed wire fences we decided to keep walking and go up to the forrest. Little did I remember there was marsh (swamps) and we walked right onto it. Hoping that it was only a small patch we kept walking, then I noticed the water was getting in my shoes and in my socks. Did not like that feeling. Then Paul started sinking. I said something (I don't remember what) cause I couldn't walk in the marsh (swamp) anymore. So Paul lifted me up to carry me out of it and back onto the regular grass. Then he started sinking more. Then he threw me!! I went flying through the air for what seemed like minutes! Luckily I landed on my feet cause I have cat DNA....that's a possible reason.

I drew a heart on the fence....that's how sweet I am :D

Making a wish! But for what?

And here is real sadness expressed by me. I cannot climb over the barbed wire fence to get home because the barbed wire digs into my leg everytime I try. After a long time, Paul eventually lifts me once I give him specific instructions as follows:
"DO NOT FLING ME THROUGH THE AIR AGAIN"
